WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
The first 1500 advance ticket holders whose tickets are marked “Early Access” will be able to enter the campgrounds through the Back Gate (see Grounds Map) starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 28. The Back Gate will close at noon and only be used for exiting and re-entry for the rest of the week (daily from 8 a.m. to midnight). Starting at noon on Tuesday, June 28. the Front Gate will open and all further ticket activity will be handled through this gate, which will stay open 24 hours a day, for the rest of the week. The Side Gate will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily and is for exiting and re-entry only. Access to the campground will not be given before these times unless you are serving as part of our setup crew.
CAN I CAMP AT CORNERSTONE FESTIVAL?
Yes. Cornerstone Festival does not charge extra for camping. Regular campsites are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. See Camping for more info.
WHEN I GET THERE, WHAT HAPPENS FIRST?
You'll be given a wristband in exchange for your ticket and a filled-out registration card. You must wear your wristband on your wrist throughout the entire festival. For those youth groups that have reserved camping, check in with registration personnel at the Front and Back Gates (Monday morning only for Back Gate) for information on your campsite.
WHAT ARE THE BATHROOMS AND SHOWERS LIKE?
There are two large shower houses providing hot showers from 6 a.m. through midnight. In addition, there is a smaller shower house for the handicapped only (located near Main Stage). There are a limited number of sinks at each shower house. Portable waterless toilets are conveniently located throughout the grounds and are serviced twice daily.
CAN I COOK OVER AN OPEN FIRE?
No. Open fires are not allowed. Bring a camp stove or grill.
CAN I BRING MY RV?
You are welcome to bring your RV, and you may park it anywhere you wish (except reserved sites) if you don't require an RV hookup. RV sites with hookups are by reservation only (773.989.2087). See camping for more info.
CAN I DRINK THE WATER?
Yes, and there are water spigots scattered throughout the grounds. If well water doesn't suit your taste, two water refill stations with good-tasting city water are available and marked on the map. Feel free to bring your own bottled water or purchase it at the on-site store.
LET'S TALK ABOUT SWIMMING.
Beach hours are 10 A.M.—8 P.M. No one will be allowed on the beach except during these hours. Swimming is only allowed within the designated swimming area. Other sections of the lake have potentially dangerous items on the bottom (sharp rocks, deep mud, etc.) that could cause serious injury. Also, please do not swim with an air mattress outside of the designated swimming area. It is easy to overestimate your swimming ability and to underestimate how tired you are during the festival and how big the lake is. You could end up going too far out to get back safely.
- Swim at your own risk.
- All children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Please wear a MODEST swimsuit.
- Swimming across the lake is strictly prohibited.
These guidelines will be strictly enforced. Disobeying these guidelines could lead to you being asked to leave the grounds.
CAN I BRING MY PERSONAL WATERCRAFT?
You may bring your own boat (but no motors are allowed). If you are planning on using your own boat, canoe, or inflatable raft, you must take along one flotation device (i.e., life vest, cushion) for each person.
CAN I CATCH A BIG BASS FOR DINNER?
Sorry, you can fish to your heart's delight, but all bass fishing is strictly catch-and-release.
WILL CORNERSTONE FESTIVAL FEED ME?
No, but you can bring as much food and drink as you want. Food is available on the grounds for purchase at reasonable prices from vendors and a convenience store which stocks basic groceries.
IS EVERYTHING CONVENIENTLY LOCATED?
No, but walking is an excellent form of exercise, so start practicing. (We also suggest you bring a bicycle.) Cornerstone Farm is very large and there are no sidewalks. Come prepared to walk on dusty or muddy gravel roads.
CAN I DRIVE TO THE SHOWS AND SEMINARS?
No. Please be prepared to walk. Only golf carts and bicycles are permitted to drive about the grounds. Please park all vehicles on the grass at least 3 feet away from the edge of the roads. This will help to minimize fender benders and keep the roadways open for the occasional service vehicle. Cornerstone will not be responsible for any damage caused by service or staff vehicles to vehicles that are parked closer than 3 feet from the road edge.
Once your campsite is set up, we ask you to either not drive until you pack up and leave, or else park your car in one of the designated day lots. This restriction includes all ATVs and motorcycles. Vehicle passes for the handicapped are available from registration.
CAN I BRING MY DOG, CAT, PARROT, OR GERBIL?
No. Pets are not allowed on the grounds. We all love pets, but with the large crowd it is safer all around if you leave your dogs, cats, and other pets at home.
CAN I BRING FIREWORKS?
NO FIREWORKS OR LARGE BONFIRES PERMITTED on the grounds. This policy will be strictly enforced.
WHAT ABOUT ALCOHOL AND DRUGS?
This is an alcohol-and-drug-free event. Absolutely no alcohol or illegal drugs will be allowed on the grounds. Anyone found to be in possession of these will be removed from the grounds and/or turned over to the police.
CAN I SELL MY STUFF AT CORNERSTONE?
Yes, you may do so legally. Interested vendors should fill out a vendor application and send it in. See the Vendors page for more info.
In all fairness and courtesy to the artists, exhibitors, and vendors who are at the festival at considerable expense to themselves, we ask that you do not buy from those selling informally, and that you'd please notify the fest office when you see this taking place.
WHAT ABOUT GOLF CARTS?
You can rent or bring your own golf cart to the festival, but all drivers of golf carts must be at least 21 years old (staff and medical exceptions will apply). You will be required to follow the golf cart regulations posted at the TNT golf car site. These regulations, except those specific to TNT renters, apply to all, whether you bring your own cart or rent one. Attendees who wish to use golf carts during Cornerstone Festival 2009 must come to the TNT rental area to fill out and sign a regulation agreement and pick up their driving permit. Information about renting a golf cart for the festival is also available at the TNT site.
Here are some additional details about proper driving and use of a golf cart at the festival:
- Obey all road signs on the festival grounds including but not limited to one way, stop, speed limit, and parking signs.
- Obey any and all traffic control direction given by members of Cornerstone Festival security or traffic control staff.
- At no time shall there be more than four people, including the driver, on the golf cart.
- Pedestrians have the right of way at all times on all roadways and trails on the festival grounds, and the speed limits are determined by the flow of pedestrian traffic at the time. Weaving in and out of pedestrians in order to move faster than the flow of traffic is strictly prohibited.
- There will be a golf cart curfew from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. We encourage attendees to return to their campsites by 2 a.m. Only staff golf carts will be permitted to travel during the curfew hours.
- Please keep your golf cart driving to a minimum.
- Any unsafe or reckless driving behavior will result in a revoked permit and impounded cart for the duration of the festival.
