THE PRAIRIE SCHOOL OF WRITING IS A WRITER'S CONFERENCE WITHIN CORNERSTONE FESTIVAL, WHERE WE SEEK TO SEAMLESSLY WEAVE TOGETHER ART, FAITH AND LIFE.

THE SOUL TELLS A STORY
(Vinita Hampton Wright, 6 sessions)
What is your creative process, and how can you work with it better? How does your creativity merge with your life of faith? How can you more intentionally approach your art with spiritual sensibilities and your spirituality with creativity? This workshop will involve discussion, informal lecture, and writing exercises designed to help you connect with your creative gifts.

HOW ONE DETROIT HOUSEWIFE'S BLOG RECEIVED 25,000 HITS IN ONE DAY
(Nancy Nall Derringer, 1 session)
Many of us feel as if we're writing in our own little corner. Come hear the story of how suddenly one morning nancynall.com reached all the way up to the White House.

POETRY AS PERFORMANCE
(Bradley Hathaway, 1 session)

ADDITIONAL X5 SEMINARS

UNDERSTANDING HOMOSEXUALITY AND THE REALITY OF CHANGE
(Christine Sneeringer, 3 sessions)
In recent years homosexuality has gained increasing popularity in our culture but most of what we hear about it is from a pro-gay perspective. This series will explore myths and facts about homosexuality and a proper Christian response. Related topics will include the roots and causes of homosexuality, the debated issue of being 'born gay,' an overview of homosexual recovery, emotional dependency, sexual abuse, and more.

SOMEONE I LOVE IS MENTALLY ILL: SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY
(Deelight Murphy & Debra Strahan, 6 sessions)
A daily two-part workshop, shared journeys and lessons learned along the way. Session one will discuss tools for developing advocacy skills, setting boundaries and communications. We'll also talk about challenges like: fear of the future, guilt, isolation, disappointment, self-care, stigma, finding support and re-creating relationships and pursuing resources. Session two each day will be a time of sharing experiences and hearing stories of others' experiences with their loved ones.
