CORNERSTONE IS MORE THAN JUST ABOUT THE MUSIC... From the beginning, Cornerstone has been interested in the arts and culture, social concerns and contemporary thought, public policy and practical spirituality. This vital conversation continues in cstoneXchange: an exchange of ideas, but not just ideas — images, too, poetry and prose, participation with proclamation, involving body, mind and soul. You won't find all the answers here, but lots of great questions and plenty of room to ask your own.

    2009 CSTONEXCHANGE Seminar Program Announced
The daily seminar program for the 26th annual Cornerstone Festival (July 1-4, 2009) features a range of topics from social justice to personal spirituality — and the relationship between these. Emphases on the program include the quest for a holistic faith that combines personal piety with activism, ongoing transformations in Evangelicalism (political, demographic and otherwise) and theological underpinnings of defending the human rights of the Other, despite their Otherness.

The 2009 seminar program features an adjustment in the usual schedule: seminars will begin one day earlier in order to accomodate a general session on the last day of the fest. The main seminar program will run mornings and afternoons from Wednesday, July 1st through Friday, July 3rd. On Saturday, July 4th, there will be a Plenary Session in the Gallery tent, beginning at 1 PM, with — along with other features — a keynote lecture followed by a roundtable discussion. The keynote will be given by author and speaker Phyllis Tickle, on the subject of her book "The Great Emergence," followed by a discussion of present shifts in and future prospects for Evangelicalism — a tradition Cornerstone has always existed on the fringe of and maintained complex relations with, nonetheless one many fest attendees have often claimed as their own.

Along with the daily seminar program, Cornerstone Festival is well-known for its astonishing variety of music, and the 2009 event will once again feature hundreds of artists on dozens of stages — along with camping, outdoor activities and diverse programming for all ages.
