The members of AwakenUs feel called to reveal God's message of grace and hope through music. Their debut album, Reveal, is original Christian rock from their hearts. Reveal shows the musical diversity of AwakenUs. These songs contain themes close to the band members that everyone can relate to in their own lives.
From the rock ballad Carry Me, to the simple and melodic tracks Will You and Claire's Song, Reveal is about yearning for God and trusting that God is with us. It's about feeling alone, and needing God. It's about responding to God's call and wondering what God has in store. Sharing God's message is central to everything AwakenUs does. They are a high energy group that loves to share their message in live performances. Their passion and authenticity show in their live and recorded work which resonates with the listeners.
While the group was largely formed in 2003, some members have been playing together since 1999. A tight knit group of friends, they've enjoyed growing together musically. Their early work was leading praise and worship in their local church. They have been especially moved and inspired by their work at a church serving the inner city homeless. AwakenUs has also had the privilege to raise funds for Lutheran Campus Ministries and relief efforts for the Haiti disaster. These recent opportunities to play their original songs live and for new audiences have AwakenUs excited for the future.
