Why are there no results here?
Managing online voting is difficult. Some people try and cheat. Some people don't. Some accuse others of cheating (whether they are or not). Some people cheat a little bit. Some people cheat a lot. Sometimes bands cheat for themselves. Other times fans cheat for them. We want the New Band Showcase contest to be fair. If we didn't care we wouldn't monitor the voting and the best cheater would win. That's not how we want things to be. This year we're going to try something different. We are NOT going to post the standings or any "live" results. We would like everyone to vote as usual (without the cheating please) and when the contest ends we will review all the votes and disqualify any we see fit (as we usually do). We understand this makes it hard to know if you're doing well but it also makes it equally hard to know if you need to keep cheating to get that top spot.
However, we don't want you to have to go through two months of voting without any idea of where your favorite band is in the standings. So, starting April 1st we will be posting an ALPHABETICALLY ORDERED list of the top 25 bands on that day. We will continue to update and post this list every Thursday through the duration of the contest.
If you want to win, work hard, promote your band, tell all your friends to vote (once a day!) and have fun and play fair!
