Kindred is a band that formed out of a mutual love of music and a heart for God, "We knew we had a responsibility to get the message to the masses - and that music was our way in." Each band member brings their own eclectic musical style to the mix, with influences ranging from Praise and Worship artists like Kari Jobe, to heavier acts like Skillet and Fireflight. "Having a female lead vocalist allows us to explore more facets of musicality - with Erica we can tap into a much softer side - but when we want to just rock out, her voice shines on a whole new level." The band's leader and founding member, Joey Cefalu had a vision in mind from the very beginning. His vision saw the band's ministry doing God's work - one soul at a time. "So many people want to change the world, and that's as specific as they get... I have always loved the idea that even if we reach just one person, then we've done our job."
In the summer of 2011, Kindred recorded their first E.P. in Nashville, TN. They are currently writing new material for what will be their first full length album and will be recording in July of 2012. They are signed with PopGun Entertainment, founded by Producer Dustin Kirkendall and CCM Magazine's Lindsey Kirkendall from Nashville, TN..
