Back to list of all 2012 New Band Showcase bands

Vessel, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was formed in March of 2011 from Barbados Slim, a band the guitarists and drummer were involved with. Vessel brought together the guitars and drums from Barbados Slim with stronger and heavier vocals of Benjamin Morphew to play their first show on April 9th, 2011. With very late notice for their first show as a new band, they spent everyday those four weeks, along with school and work, writing and practicing three original songs, one of which was "False Body". Also, they learned three cover songs to create a 30 minute set. Their first show ever, with the power of their music they created an incredible moshpit even though no moshing was allowed. After a perfect first show, the band knew they were meant to do bigger and better things with the talent gifted to them by the creator. Later in the Summer on August 12th, 2011 they released their self recorded EP entitled Nebuchadnezzar. The EP Includes an intro track and a hidden track along with the four main songs. Now, the band is still writing and making a great impact in the music scene of today. Everyday Vessel is working hard to get their music out to labels as well as booking shows and performing. An album is in close sights this coming Fall. Please vote for us!
False Body lyrics:
This fighting will never end
momma says it will be O. K.
I believe, I believe
fire up the engines, fire up the earth, too many of us have been left behind
chemical imbalances, radiation
the flowers are dead, the water has evaporated
the sky rains fire
children have vanished they followed the piper
get down on your knees
pray to God
my nails have been ripped away
they left me here to survive
get back on your feet, try to survive
get back on your feet, keep on marching
I did not "believe" this could happen
fires are burning me alive
