*Cigar Box/Found Object Guitars Info
You must register at the Art Tent with a $10.00 cash workshop fee to help us cover the cost of materials.

We will be building 1, 2 or 3 string slide guitars, no frets. If there are a couple people wanting to build a 1 or 2 string bass, we can accommodate that.

It's essential you bring either a cigar box or other similar wooden box, cookie or other metal tin or at least a can of some sort to use as the "body" of the guitar.

If you have an old -wooden- broom handle or could purchase a 3 foot piece of poplar or aspen 1x2 inch wood, any of these will work perfectly for a "neck".

Cstone can provide eye bolts and wingnuts as "tuners", guitar strings (if you can provide your own strings it would be appreciated... steel-not nylon strings please) and material suitable for a "slide" as well as guitar picks.

We will also supply power tools, drill bits and other needed supplies along with staff to help safely use 'em for the building.

If you have a larger, old pair of jeans or other cool material and some strong thread and a needle (or rawhide) you can also create a bag or sack to put your instrument in when completed.

Please bring super glue, thumbtacks, permanent magic marker/sharpies in whatever colors you may like for decoration possibilities.
